Sarah has a convenient portable headshot studio that she can set up in any space 10ft x 10ft whether a boardroom or communal area in your building or even in an office where she captures your team one by one against a coloured paper roll of your choice. It can be neutral or coloured to match your team page colour scheme or perhaps your logo or branding guideline colours.
Sarah is an expert at helping folk relax so expressions will look natural and your team will be projected as professional and approachable. Sarah listens carefully to your headshot brief and will provide solutions to create a set of cohesive headshots that reflect your team’s characters and brand ethos.
Sarah’s Headshot Photography sessions in the city centre of Newcastle are informal and relaxed either on location or in her cosy underground studio space in Newcastle city centre’s Clavering House. She has been taking portraits professionally since graduating from the London Institute of Art in 2000. Over 25 years Sarah has perfected photographing people, their faces and their characters whilst putting folk at ease.
This love of photographing people began during her studies in South East London, challenging herself to explore extraordinary places and cultures with her camera. Her first experiences were Transylvanian and Caribbean barbers observing the banter between stylists and clients. This kick-started an intrigue and love of photographing people that continues to make her job so rewarding.
She spent almost a decade at Venture Portraits as Photographer and Studio Manager in the noughties. This was an exciting period of intense training that gained her qualifications in Portraiture Photography and Digital Retouching and she won several awards for capturing character and personality with creative flair.
Sarah set up her own Newcastle Photography Studio in 2011 and since then hasn’t looked back! Sarah hopes to see you in her studio soon!
Sarah Deane is a Newcastle based Portrait Photographer with over 25 years’ experience, and a proud feminist in her 50s. Sarah says “I believe women in later life should be visible, celebrated, and proud of who they’ve become”.
Her Story is a portrait session designed especially for women in mid to later life and was born from Sarah listening to women her age sharing personal stories in honest, powerful conversations about aging, motherhood, career changes, hormones and shifting identities. These portraits are about more than just faces; they depict resilience, joy, identity and all the life lived so far.
This project encourages women to reclaim time for themselves, to celebrate milestones like menopause and to embrace aging with pride. It’s a chance to reflect, laugh and be captured as your true self—with no filters, just simple studio light, genuine expression and thoughtful styling.
Her Story portraiture here in Sarah’s Newcastle studio is to capture a time of transformation, change and empowerment offering a bespoke relaxed portrait experience that feels both fun and meaningful.
