Aiden Byrne’s Church Green, Cheshire

Nestled in Lymm, a gorgeous little village in Cheshire there is a fantastic award winning AA Restaurant of the Year Heineken pub which boasts the fantastic menus created by Aiden Byrne. You may have been watching The Great British Menu series on BBC2 recently and this week it has seen competing chef Aiden making it though to the Comic Relief finals. These shots were taken for a Heineken article highlighting this particular pub and the success of Aiden and his lovely wife Sarah as the lessees. They have won countless awards for the food at the Church Green and now Aiden has gone on to open a new restaurant in Manchester that will be televised on the BBC later this year. The King’s Wark, Edinburgh

My interior photography portfolio is ever-growing as I recently decided to specialise in pub and restaurant imagery.  So I was delighted to shoot a series of images for Heineken’s Star Pubs internal pub guide. The document was being created specially to feature Edinburgh and London’s best pubs under the Star Pubs & Bars company owned by Heineken.

Some of the work shot in both capitals, features on my interiors page on my website, however there are a few favourites I plan to blog over the next few months as the interior design was so diverse and interesting and therefore an absolute joy to photograph. The King’s Wark was one of my favourites as it had a friendly and warm atmosphere and has won high acclaim for it’s creative and high quality food offering. The Northumberland Arms, Newcastle City

The Northumberland Arms recently asked me to capture imagery for a future advertising campaign. As Eldon Square is on the cusp of a refurbishment to help draw larger numbers of shoppers off Northumberland Street and into the shopping centre, it’s going to have a big effect on the local cosy pub thats situated underground. Whist the maintenance is underway my images will be used to inform shoppers the Northumberland Arms is still open for business.

Below I’ve selected a few photographs that I feel reflect the warm interior, friendly staff and their fantastic locally sourced & hearty food offering. Next time you’re in town get down there and treat yourself to a refreshing beverage and some home cooked treats!

Although The Northumberland Arms don’t as yet have a private website set up they are still featured on a few different online review sites, such as View Newcastle.

Irwin Mitchell Xmas Client Event

Well I know all the festivities are over and we are scooting into 2013 with full throttle but I think this is a nice set of corporate event images worth showing off. The lovely staff at Irwin Mitchell created a really friendly and relaxed do at Northern Stage last month treating their clients to an alternative to the usual round tabled seated format. There was a magician, cartoonist, musicians, free flowing booze & food and of course a photographer capturing the night for them to view on the web this year.

The Kenilworth Hotel & Ru Bar, Jesmond, Newcastle

The Keniworth Hotel and Ru Bar were hit by the dreadful  North East floods last year and so have recently had a refurbishment. New images of the interiors were required to drum up business through their internet promotion.

Its a quirky and interesting victorian building with super friendly staff and cosy feel. It was a joy to meet the family who run it and was a lovely relaxed job. There were bags of shots from the day I spent there but there are a few which I felt reflected it’s character best.
