Komatsu recently held its 2012 Staff Olympics with the prize for the lucky winners of a trip to Japan! I love being on the factory floor and it was fascinating to watch them compete with their various assembly skills… here are some shots from the day… an interesting insight into how these amazing machines are created!
This week I visited the Komatsu plant to capture images for a library of paint colour options for their mobile digger machines. The sparkling metallic silver against the blue sky was a sight to behold!
My brief was to capture the thorough nature of the paintwork and to promote this to the Komatsu client base. It made an interesting change to the usual yellow branding. Apparently they come in any colour requested, even in melon twisting neon colours!
Wow, well this was one of the most exciting shoots I have ever done! Last week at dawn I arrived in Corbridge mine just before a convoy of brand new Komatsu models came in as flashy & sparkley as a mobile disco. The weather was stormy but with a lot of scrabbling around up & down hills and face fulls of dirt & grit, the bursts of sunshine were long enough to give fabulous backdrop to the beautiful new machines. I was hugely excited about getting arty with these huge beasts so see what you think….
